Official sources

Post-specific requirements

The following is a post-specific summary based on the official DOS supplement PDF for the U.S. Consulate General Mumbai (DOS post code BMB), last updated January 14, 2026. All claims below are sourced from that document. Applicants should always verify requirements against the current PDF before their appointment. Failure to complete each step before the visa interview appointment may result in the consular section requiring you to reschedule for a later date.

Step 1. Online registration

Before the interview, all applicants must register online at usvisascheduling.com and complete biometrics (photo and fingerprints) at a Visa Application Center (VAC). Failure to complete biometrics results in interview cancellation. Select your visa delivery method (Premium Delivery or pick-up) during registration at usvisascheduling.com. Consulate address: C-49, G-Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra East, Mumbai 400051, India. Tel: 91 20 69020000 or +1 (332) 220-1866 (from U.S.). Email: support-india@usvisascheduling.com. Do not send documents to the consulate by mail. Additional documents may be submitted at 11 document drop-off locations via ustraveldocs.com/in/drop-off-locations.
