Step 1. Online registration
Before the interview, all applicants must register at usvisascheduling.com to enable passport and document return. Email for scheduling inquiries: Support-china@usvisascheduling.com. Consulate address: #43 Hua Jiu Road, Zhujiang New Town, Tianhe District, Guangzhou 510623. Entrance is on Huaxia Road near Exit B1 of Zhujiang New Town Metro Station (Lines 3 and 5).
Interview day logistics
- Only individuals listed on the appointment letter may enter the consulate.
- Applicants under age 14 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or individual with legal custody; the accompanying adult must show official government photo ID.
- Petitioners and attorneys cannot be accommodated in the waiting room or at interviews due to limited space.
- Accepted fee payment: U.S. dollars or Chinese RMB at the consulate exchange rate on interview day; cash and credit cards only (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover); combination of USD and RMB is not accepted.
- Do not make travel plans outside of China before receiving your visa. After approval, the consulate retains the passport while preparing the immigration packet; passport returned via CITIC Bank branch or home address selected during registration.
- Wait at least 90 days after the interview before requesting application status if administrative processing is required.
Medical examination
Schedule the medical exam immediately upon receiving the appointment date with a consulate-approved panel physician. The exam must occur before the interview. Documents to bring
Required documents for all applicants: copy of NVC interview letter; unexpired passport valid for at least 8 months beyond visa issuance (bring expired/cancelled passports too); two 2x2 inch (50mm x 50mm) full-face color photographs, white background, no eyeglasses, not more than 6 months old; DS-260 confirmation page from ceac.state.gov/iv; completed online registration at usvisascheduling.com; birth certificate (mainland China applicants: notarized copy from a local notary office stating date, place of birth, and both parents' names; include originals for all principal applicant's children); alias certificate if any other name was ever officially used; police certificate(s) for all applicants over age 16, issued within the past 24 months. CRITICAL: All documents issued in China must be translated and notarized by a local notary public office in China.
Post-specific notes
- The U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou has been designated to conduct immigrant visa services for residents of North Korea. Applicants with scheduled appointments should contact the NVC using the Public Inquiry Form to confirm.
- FRAUD WARNING: UStraveldocs.com is the only website that the U.S. Consulate General authorizes to provide visa information and visa application services.
- If the physician provides a sealed envelope, do not open it; bring it to the interview. If using the e-medical process, results are transmitted electronically. X-rays must be hand-carried to the U.S. port of entry (not in checked luggage), except for e-medical applicants.
- Chinese police certificates must come from local notary offices only.
